The Valhall PWP-Fenris Joint Development Project involves the modernization and expansion of the infrastructure of two fields located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea: the Valhall Oil & Gas field and the Fenris Condensed Gas field, situated 50 km away, characterized by being an unstaffed underwater installation.

The initiative aims to extend the lifespan of these fields and increase their production capacity by integrating cutting-edge technology to minimize CO2 emissions. To achieve this, a new central platform and a wellhead (PWP) will be constructed at Valhall, connected to Fenris via subsea pipelines.

JCE Group, through its renewable energy division JCE Energy, has overseen the design, manufacture and commissioning of the ATEX Zone 2 solar power and battery system for the pre-drill module of the project, in which they have installed our MBL160-Ex marine lantern.

This medium-range lantern features high luminous efficiency with low consumption, it is designed according to IALA recommendations, and belongs to the ATEX Group II Category 2 classification, making it highly safe for use in potentially hazardous atmospheres.

At MSM Offshore, we are proud to contribute to such a significant project with our ATEX-certified AtoN equipment, ensuring the safety of navigation in the Valhall PWP-Fenris project area.
