Innovating in Brunei: MSM Offshore marks a Single Point Mooring with cutting-edge ATEX AtoN equipment

The MBL160-Ex marine lantern and the RACON RBM4-Ex from MSM Offshore have been successfully installed by Offshore Ops Ltd as part of the Aids to Navigation system for a Single Point Mooring (SPM) in Brunei.

A Single Point Mooring is an offshore system that allows large vessels to efficiently and safely conduct cargo transfer operations, especially for petroleum-based liquids and gases. This system consists of a buoy or floating platform anchored to the seabed, connected to the shore by underwater pipelines. This method is used outside port areas when they lack the necessary infrastructure to accommodate large vessels or when it is more efficient to conduct the transfer offshore. Although it is a robust system, it requires careful planning based on weather and sea conditions.

With our ATEX maritime marking equipment, we ensure that operations at the SPM are visible and secure, enhancing navigation safety and adhering to the highest industry standards.

The MBL160-Ex marine lantern and RBM4-Ex RACON, both designed according to IALA recommendations, are noted for their low energy consumption and durability in extreme environments. With ATEX Group II Category 2 certification, they are equipped to operate in potentially hazardous atmospheres, always ensuring maximum safety.
